The city of Lausanne is the Olympic capital. Consequently, visiting the Olympic Museum is an absolute must when staying in the region.

Located on the heights of the Quai d’Ouchy, proudly overlooking the Lac Léman, the museum is dedicated to the remarkable history of the Olympic Games. It houses permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the world of sports in general and the Olympic movement in particular.

Sitting in the midst of a huge park with lush gardens and many sports-themed works of art, the dominant building has three floors, each one dedicated to specific exhibits ; “The Olympic Spirit” in the basement, “The Olympic Games” on the ground floor, and “The Olympic World” on the top floor. Sports fans will be fascinated by the legendary Olympic memorabilia displayed everywhere.

And after you have explored the museum, don’t forget to stop at the museum’s TOM Café on the upper floor with one of the most beautiful terraces in the whole of Lausanne. Here you can relax and refuel in a colorful, airy setting with a distinctly sporty theme. The TOM Café awaits you with a delicious selection of food and drink – many of them served with a special Olympic Museum twist.
